Internet Sales Continue To Grow.

According to the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG), the wet weather we experienced in July drove consumers to shop on line rather than trudging down the high street. Online shopping sales rose from £2.34bn in July last year to a staggering £4.2bn in July 2007. IMRG said that another factor in the rapid growth of internet sales is also due to the fact that retailers are improving their out of date web sites and broadband is becoming more readily available to consumers making it easier to buy on line. Almost doubling in growth from this time last year, the fastest growing sector of online sales was white goods. Internet sales of clothing, shoes and accessories also had a massive increase of almost 60% says the industry body IMRG.
